CYMT (Cambridge Youth Musical Theatre) produces musicals with some of the most energetic and talented young singers, actors, dancers and performers from Cambridge and the surrounding region. We stage eye-popping and ear-delighting productions that challenge and stretch the cast, and surprise and entertain our audience.
We are especially interested in performing original musicals, and innovative and unusual shows that are less well known, as many of us have sung in, danced in, acted in, directed, conducted, choreographed and watched Oliver! quite enough times already!
In our first two years we have produced five outstanding productions: MURDER IN THE RED BARN (July 2015, ADC Theatre), TYPHOID MARY (January 2016, Corpus Playroom), URINTEOWN THE MUSICAL! (July 2016, ADC Theatre), FATHER FROST (January 2017, Cambridge Junction) and THE OVERCOAT (January 2017, Cambridge Junction).
All of our productions have been highly praised by audiences and have received critical acclaim.
Cambridge Youth Music Theatre (CYMT) proves that when brilliantly done, even the darkest of themes can light up a stage. The ensemble of young performers simply oozed talent and joyous commitment…
